Page Spread & InDesign

For the 2 page spread we worked on I started with making the columns and then went over to the text. I considered the columns and grids when designing because it helped me a lot with placing different items onto the spread and helped me overall make everything aligned. The best time to use InDesign for a project is when you need to finish it because InDesign has the preflight feature and the packaging feature helps out a lot when you need to find your files and you already have them on the document.

The most challenging part about designing the 6 page pamphlet for me was probably making the style sheets just because I really had to mess around with it to get it to look good. Designing the page layout really helped me understand a lot about what you got to do to just in order for the pages to come out correctly. I feel like now I got a better understanding at how to make guidelines and use parent pages when it comes to designing layouts.

Blog Post Monogram & Apps Review Post #2

The most challenging part about designing the monogram was making sure that I had a logo that could be legible and seen at multiple different sizes. After doing the review assignments I think I got the process down now for finalizing a project for print ready use especially after we reviewed it helped me realize that even if I put crop marks I have to press the bleed to be included too or else the crop marks are for nothing. Having a final PDF is important because the final pdf is suppose to be print a print ready document with no mistakes. 

What is Advertising?

I already new that newspapers are being used less as advertisement because of all the advertisements online. The most important thing to consider when designing an advertisement is to make sure that the advertisement can convey a call to action otherwise the advertisement isn't really an advertisement. I've designed a car advertisement before for my adobe illustrator class.

In my current Graphic Design experience I'm at a point where I'm way more comfortable with using the adobe apps. I still have a lot more to learn with these applications but it feels like I'm finally starting to understand how to use more of the complicated tools on the adobe apps. The last few courses I've taken have been about designing and advertising. I feel like the courses I've taken have really helped me grow a lot in my designing skills and I think I've definitely have gotten more creative and efficient at doing stuff I really like. I hope to learn more about advertising and how I can incorporate that into my designs.
